On May 22, 2019 the Futsal Arena of Ciorescu hosted the Extraordinary Congress of the Moldovan Football Federation (MFF).
Earlier this April, the Federation’s longstanding President Pavel Cebanu announced his intention to step down. Thus, the election of his successor became the focal point of the Extraordinary Congress.
Leonid Oleinicenco, who has worked at the Federation for the last 10 years, was unanimously elected as the new Head of Moldovan football. Oleinicenco has previously occupied the position of the Executive Director of the organization.
In recognition of his contributions to the development and promotion of football in Moldova, Pavel Cebanu was awarded with the title of the Honorary President of the Federation.
